Kartika Ahmad
Age:
15
Medium:
Mixed Media
Mentor:
Jodee Knowles

A note from the Artist:
Kartika is a 15 year old adolescent of today who believes that art is a lifestyle rather than a performance. As a culprit and fan of street art in the shadows, she aspires to help impel the acceptance of art to the fringes. In addition she is akin to producing mixed media pieces that express messages and feelings that have been personally experienced

Meet Femme Fatale

A note from the artists:
Oh hi! We are Femme Fatale, a group of four girls (Whitney, Sarah, Simone and Kat) who studied and performed together at the Hayman Theatre. Keen to escape the dreariness of multiple casual jobs we want to create our own art – something relevant to us, something worth exploring, something to make people stop and think. With our mentor, Peter Webb, an accomplished devised practitioner we aim to gain tools, techniques and methods to help us in the process of devising theatre which can hold meaning.

Dingo Boy
by Devina Ranger
(an excerpt)

Once upon a time there was a boy who was half dingo and half boy, his name was Dingoboy. Dingoboy had got his name by the way that he looked he had fur that ran from the top of his head all the way down his back to the back of his heel he had pointed ears but was a human boy and wore only a pair of shorts.

Dingo boy loved swimming on the hot summer days and lazing under shady gumtrees near his home by the creek, Dingoboy loved where he lived and would often wander into the nearby community of Wakuthuni before sunset to see all the children wandering home.

As the days went by Dingoboy felt lonelier and lonelier as he had no friends of his own and would often wander what it would be like to have friends, he had always dreamt of having friends but was always to scared to talk to anyone in the community he had heard about the two most mischievous children in Wakuthuni whose names were Cindy Sue and Sam and would wander what it be like to be their friend...
